If the court has light or patches of moss, it normally takes me a full day to completely clean your court and its net. However, a really neglected court or one overrun with weeds on the surface and around the fence will probably take two days.
This depends on how long the task will take and whether there are extra cleaning requirements such as removing foliage and leaves. For an accurate quote lets have a chat to discuss your requirements and it always helps if you can send me a few photos of the court surface.
This depends on how often the court is used. Footfall and use is the best way to inhibit the growth of moss. Courts in rural locations or surrounded by trees generally need cleaning every other year. Our climate is a Mosses best friend and it doesn't take long to grow back given a chance. Most clients want a court cleaned in Spring to be ready for a summer of playing, but a clean in Autumn will ensure that the pores of the surface are clear and that water can freely drain. Water stuck on the surface and in the cracks will make the surface susceptible to winter frost and freeze/thaw conditions which can really accelerate the deterioration of your court.
Yes. Tarmac courts can be cleaned all year round. Artificial courts need dry weather, however the hotter the sun beating down the more effective the killing of moss deep down will be.
Yes, I have Public Liability Insurance for £1m.
I will conduct minor repairs to grouting that I come across during the cleaning process, however I do not routinely do wholesale re-grouting. If this is something you need then contact me to discuss a bespoke plan.
I use a light bleach on nets but nothing but water on tarmac courts.
I normally apply Sodium Hyperchlorite to artificial courts.
For weed control I will use the most appropriate biocide for the weeds that you have growing. If you are concerned about the use of chemicals then there are alternative cleaning methods that avoid the use of chemicals we can discuss.
I am certified by City & Guilds to conduct the application of biocides (weed killer) by hand-held and knapsack sprayers. I hold PA1 and PA6A certificates.
There is no getting round that some paint is going to lift. How much depends on the age of the paint. All paint suffers from weathering and UV damage. Unfortunately moss will still grow on old paint and it will come up when powerwashed. White lines tend to last much longer because they are painted much thicker and so are rarely if ever affected by power washing.
Absolutely. You want the surface to be free of all organic matter and the natural oils and greases (such as fir resin) so that a new paint job adheres properly - and to maintain that all important porous surface to aid draining.
Your water feeds into a tank on my truck which in turn feeds the pressure washer. The tank will be emptied in about 15mins of continuous use. In simple terms your tap needs to keep the water tank filled up otherwise I will have to stop to wait for it to fill. With low water pressure this can be as much as 15 minutes to refill! In some cases this can double the amount of time it takes to clean a court. If this is the case it means a two day job with the additional travel and expenses which increases the cost.
